👨🔬 Synthesis Expert’s Note:
Our Gum Turpentine is sourced primarily from Masson Pine, which is globally recognized for its high α-Pinene content (Instance Data: 76.8%).
Compared to Slash Pine (which is higher in β-Pinene), our product is the preferred feedstock for synthesizing Camphor, Borneol, and Terpineol, offering higher theoretical yields in hydration reactions.
3. Core Applications & Industry Value
A. Raw Material for Synthesis (Deep Processing)
Gum Turpentine is the starting point for the “Pine Chemicals” value chain.
-
Camphor & Borneol: The high α-Pinene content allows for efficient isomerization.
-
Terpineol: Used to produce pharmaceutical and perfume grade Terpineol through hydration.
-
Resins: Used in the production of Terpene Resins and Polyterpene Resins for adhesives (Hot melt adhesives).
B. Paints, Coatings & Enamels
-
Superior Solvency: Unlike mineral spirits, Turpentine has a high Kauri-Butanol value, making it the best solvent for natural varnishes, phenolic resins, and alkyd paints.
-
Film Properties: Its evaporation rate allows for excellent leveling (flow) of the paint film, preventing brush marks.
C. Pharmaceutical & Medicinal Use
-
Due to its natural origin and purity, it is used in the formulation of topical analgesics, muscle rubs, and ointments for its warming and rubefacient properties.
4. Production & Quality Control
-
Source Control: We collaborate directly with forestry stations in Guangxi and Yunnan provinces to collect fresh oleoresin.
-
Distillation: Produced via steam distillation under vacuum to prevent thermal degradation of the pinenes.
-
Storage Stability: Stored in inert tanks to minimize oxidation (thickening) before packaging.
5. Packaging & Shipping
-
Galvanized Iron Drum: 175 kg net weight. (Standard Export Packing)
-
ISO Tank: 20 MT (Bulk liquid suitable for large synthesis plants).
-
Storage: Keep in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Separate from oxidants and strong acids. Shelf life is 12-24 months if sealed properly.
